Elephant steps

The feet of elephants are breathtakingly delicate.
In this work with Bouarham, I try to take a print of her foot. Very quickly, a real dance starts up. I try to define the shape of the foot. Lines appear on the plate in the reality of the exchange. A twosome, a dance emerges. The marked wood plates reflect this space and the reality of this elephant foot.

Printed in blue-green, the engravings refer to the colours of sky and sea, primeval elements that conjugate in the animal.

Engraved and printed onto corrugated papier, they play on the strength, lightness and the delicacy of elephants.
